Tour de Fleece - My First Year Spinning!

Last year I had just begun to spin on a drop spindle when Tour de Fleece begun, I didnt even know it was going on (or even what it was) until the end. Then, I wish I couldve participated because it looked like such fun!

Since then, thanks to some kind folks, friends and many youtube videos, I have grown a lot as a spinner. I’ve learned a lot about different methods of spinning and plying and wool processing. My spindle collection has also grown! I now spin mostly on support spindles.

My goals for my first ever Tour de Fleece is to spin up 3 roving braids and ply them then make a shawl. The braids I chose are Hearthside Fibers rambouillet and silk blend, Mosaic Moon polwarth and silk blend and Corgi Hill Farms polwarth.

So far its day 4 of TdF and I’ve spun up a little over half of the Corgi Hill Farms braid! I love how the colors play together and remind me of a early autumn day in the sunshine.
